WATCH: Jabeur Furiously Smashes Her Racket During Another Painful Loss

Emotions ran high for Ons Jabeur at the 2024 Charleston Open recently, and it boiled over early in the third set, resulting in a rare racquet smash from her.

The Tunisian is one of the smiliest tennis players on the WTA Tour. She always tries to find the bright side in anything she does. In recent years, she has been a brilliant role model for her people, putting together some amazing seasons and making three Grand Slam finals.

The last one was the Wimbledon final last year, arguably one of her career's most painful losses. Things have never looked the same for Jabeur since then, and it doesn't really help that she's dealing with on-and-off injuries.

This year has been particularly bad for Jabeur because she hasn't played well and lost the majority of her matches. The most recent loss was against an in-form Danielle Collins at the Charleston Open, where she won the trophy last year.

She was actually playing really well at the WTA 500 event, but it was still not good enough because Collins herself has won ten matches in a row, and she's the last player opponents want to play right now.

Unfortunately, Jabeur had to play her in Charleston, and even though she had a good second set, it didn't last, as she dropped the third set, losing the match in three sets.

Emotions ran high for her throughout the match, and things boiled over when she lost her serve early in the final set. She lost her nerve and slammed the racquet into the ground multiple times, which is something we have rarely seen from Jabeur in the past.

She's generally been able to control her emotions well enough to avoid breaking her racket, but it's been just too much for her. It's been a terrible year so far, and she's struggling to find her old level, and there are a lot of points coming up that she needs to defend.
