John Millman backs Nick Kyrgios for Wimbledon success, asserting that there's no reason the Aussie can't claim the prestigious title.

Nick Kyrgios is currently away from the tennis courts due to an ongoing recovery from injury. The Australian hasn't competed on the ATP Tour in 2023 but his first match of the season can come very soon with the 2023 Wimbledon nearing.

His fellow compatriot John Millman firmly believes that Kyrgios has what it takes to win the coveted Grand Slam. Millman, who is now less involved on the professional circuit, wrote a compelling piece for News.com.au, in which he praises Kyrgios' undeniable talent and argues that he can achieve victory at Wimbledon.

Millman acknowledges the polarizing nature of Kyrgios' persona, admitting that people either love or hate him for his nonchalant, rock star attitude. However, he emphasizes that Kyrgios' skill on the court is undeniable and has few rivals.

"Whether you love or hate the guy for his rock star, “don’t give a stuff” persona, the one thing we can all agree on is he has been blessed with a skill on the tennis court that has few rivals. His impossible shot-making complimented with an occasional unpredictable outburst makes him a must-see attraction."

His extraordinary shot-making abilities, combined with his unpredictable outbursts, make Kyrgios a must-see attraction for tennis enthusiasts. Millman describes Kyrgios as a "yin and yang" personality, capturing the attention of crowds worldwide who can't get enough of his magnetic presence.

"He’s yin and yang wrapped into one and crowds around the world just can’t get enough of it. There’s yet to be a tournament I’ve played where the fans aren’t hanging by the rafters when he’s on court."

As a fellow player, Millman has experienced the electric atmosphere surrounding Kyrgios' matches first-hand. He recounts moments when he wished that some of the excitement from Kyrgios' court could seep into his own.

"I’ve often, frustratingly so, been playing on a neighbouring court to Nick when he’s in full flight. At times I’d be wishing that some of that atmosphere that’s been created on his court would filter its way to mine."

This unique energy, he suggests, is something the tennis world has sorely missed since Kyrgios' knee injury in October of the previous year. Millman refers to Kyrgios' performance at last year's Wimbledon, where he reached the finals, as evidence that the Aussie star can indeed win Grand Slams. He sees no reason why Kyrgios can't triumph at Wimbledon, the Australian Open, or the US Open in the coming months.

"There’s no doubt that the game has missed Kyrgios since his knee injury sustained in October last year. Nick proved last year when making the final of Wimbledon that he can win Grand Slams. I see no reason why he can’t win Wimbledon, Australian Open or the US Open in the next eight months."
