Carla Suarez Navarro has officially announced the safe birth of her newborn twin daughters with Spanish football player Olga Garcia.
In December 2022, Suarez Navarro first announced her pregnancy with Garcia following a turbulent few years of battling cancer and returning to professional tennis. Then, in another announcement in March 2023, she provided an update on her pregnancy that she was expecting twins.
To add more good news to her ongoing story of triumph off the court since her retirement, another positive update came from Garcia's official Instagram account. The pair publicly announced that their twins arrived in the world safely on Friday, June 2 and fans have commented on the post to pass on their joy for the couple and their new daughters, named Noa and Ona.
"@carlasuareznava I will be eternally grateful to you for making me the most beautiful birthday present anyone could have and for being a true fighter and brave. Thank you all for the messages received during day 1. Little by little I'll get back to you !"
Former WTA world number six Navarro officially retired from professional tennis in 2021 following Spain's elimination from the Billie Jean King Cup against Slovakia. She competed in all four Grand Slams throughout her career and reached the quarter-final stages of the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the US Open.
The 34-year-old will now begin a new chapter in her life alongside her partner and new twin daughters. In addition, Garcia expressed thanks to the medical team who helped deliver the girls and explained the family are excited for the future.
"We wanted to extend our gratitude also to the Maternity and Neonatal team of San Pedro Hospital (Logroño) and to the Alxen Clinic (Vanesa) for the care throughout the pregnancy and birth care of the princesses."
"We started a new adventure filled with happiness and love!"
