Sloane Stephens' 2023 Roland Garros journey wasn't the longest one but it was long enough to showcase her new outfits.
Stephens knows how it feels like to play seven matches at a Grand Slam tournament. She did that twice, but only once she managed to win all of them, and that was at the 2017 US Open, her only major triumph.
But since then, the American became one of the most important players on the WTA Tour, not just because of her tennis, but also because of her involvement in different activities. At the 2023 Roland Garros, her journey ended against Aryna Sabalenka in the fourth round, but it was an important match.
Important for one specific reason, it was the only WTA match, that was played during a night session on the Court Philippe-Chatrier. But Stephens, who was one of the players who addressed the issue, caught fans' eye also because of her outfits.
Fans have been effusive in their praise of Stephens' bright and eye-catching ensembles, sponsored by the American fashion brand, Free People Movement. After parting ways with Nike, her sponsor since 2018, at the start of the 2023 season, Stephens has embraced her new fashion collaboration with Free People Movement.
This shift was well received by fans, with many expressing their admiration for the vibrant colors of her outfits, which included shades of bright pink, electric blue, and emerald green. Some fans even took to social media to vote on their favorite color, with blue emerging as a particular favorite.
Stephens herself also seemed pleased with her new kits. During a Q&A session with fans after her fourth-round match at the French Open, she revealed that her favorite outfit color at the tournament was blue.
The 2017 US Open champion had an outfit of a different colour for every one of her matches at the 2023 Roland Garros and fans, who also called her 'a stylish queen', wanted to know if she will keep the trend also for the upcoming Grand Slams.
"Yes! Lot's of new stuff coming! Excited for you to see what's next. Obviously Wimbledon is all white. So you will see only white there. But summer series... We are bringing the heat."
