Serena Williams dismisses talk about returning to tennis

Serena Williams won't be making a return to tennis as she admitted that she's looking to focus on things outside of tennis.

Williams retired at the 2022 US Open following a short retirement tour that included several events including Wimbledon. Her US Open run wasn't as long as she had hoped and in a recent interview with CBS, Williams spoke about regretting the way her final match ended.

I was actually not very happy at all. Just because of the result. I was there to keep going and to keep winning. And yeah, it was more or less like, ‘I can’t believe I let that match go’ more than anything, you know. Obviously, it was a great moment and a great memory and I’ve never felt – I don’t feel like I’ve left anything, but I just felt like, ‘What could I have done better that day?

Retiring from tennis gave her plenty of time to take off her business and explore other passions. Williams has many interests outside of tennis and after dedicating a part of her life to tennis, she is looking to dedicate part of her life to other things as well.

For now no. I've literally given my whole life to tennis and it's time to give my life to something else.
