Emma Raducanu's Porsche Tennis Grand Prix exploits will see her make a significant leap on the upcoming WTA Rankings.
The Brit has had a lot of success recently, especially on the clay courts. Not only did she play at the WTA 500 tournament in Stuttgart this week, she played pretty well.
Raducanu made the quarter-finals of the tournament, but in the last eight stage, she was overpowered by Iga Swiatek, who may soon have enough Porsche cars to give away, even though she lost to Elena Rybakina in the semi-final this year.
Even with the loss, Raducanu is set to make a significant leap in the rankings, and it's much needed since a big summer is coming up. She might or might not get a wild card for certain events, and playing the qualifiers is certainly something she'd like to avoid.
With this run to the quarter-finals, Raducanu will jump by 82 spots to position number 243. It's obviously not the ranking she wants to have, but slowly but surely, she's working her way back to the top.
The 243rd position is the highest she'll be since her comeback earlier this year when she began the year at number 301. It's also the highest she's been ranked since September of last year, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
She wants to return to the Top 100 first and then see how far she can go. Form like the one showcased in Stuttgart is certainly good enough for the Top 100, and with some big events coming up, the Brit is likely to find herself there by the US Open.
That would be a realistic timeline, but she also needs to avoid injuries. She is self-admittedly playing some of the best tennis she's played in a very long time, so anything is possible.
