WTA left some of the fans surprised as there were a lot of changes in Top 10 of the WTA Rankings on Monday after unexpected move.
The 2022 Guadalajara Open was the last WTA 1000 event of the year before the best eight players head to Fort Worth for the 2022 WTA Finals. Jessica Pegula triumphed in Mexico over Maria Sakkari as these two players secured the most points in the latest WTA Rankings.
However, points from last year's WTA Finals were subtracted already this week, although, they were expected to be removed next week. That caused more moves than expected as some players in Top 10 reached their new career high.
Jessica Pegula moved to the 3rd place of the WTA Rankings, same as in doubles. Her doubles partner, Coco Gauff, is fourth in singles and second in doubles as the American duo will have a double duty in Texas.
Another significant moves in Top 10 include Caroline Garcia's rise to no. 6, Guadalajara finalist Maria Sakkari moved to fifth place and Russians Daria Kasatkina and Veronika Kudermetova jumped to eighth and ninth respectively.
