Emma Raducanu Excited For Stuttgart Return

| by Sebastian Dahlman

Emma Raducanu will be making her comeback to tennis at the 2023 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart where she'll be hoping to do as well as she did last year.

Last year's event was her first clay event and Raducanu did really well winning a couple of matches before losing. This year will mark her return to the 2023 edition of the event which will feature plenty of other great players besides her. It will be her first one since the solid outing in Miami where she took Andreescu to three sets ultimately losing.

Raducanu will be one of many great players at the event and it just shows the popularity of the event itself. It offers quite a unique experience being a clay event played indoors which makes things a bit quicker than a usual clay court. It plays a bit faster than an outdoor clay court, such as Rome, and I think it suits my game. The tournament is a super way to begin the clay season. So hopefully it sets me up well and helps the transition to clay.

It will be her first match on clay since last year's season and but she started getting ready for it early by practising on it ahead of this return. Her participation in Stuttgart is not without controversy as she won't be on the court a few days before for Great Britain's Billie Jean King Cup tie which many back home questioned.
