Caroline Wozniacki vs Jennifer Brady: 2023 US Open - Preview & Prediction

| by Evita Mueller

Caroline Wozniacki made a sensational effort to take down Petra Kvitova at the 2023 US Open, hoping to keep it going against Jennifer Brady.

This won't be much easier than the match against Kvitova because Brady is a solid player, too, and she's playing in front of her native fans. Both were out of the game for a long time but returned recently with pretty solid results on the WTA Tour.

Much like Wozniacki, Brady is looking better with every match she plays and hopes to make the second week of the US Open. She downed Magda Linette in the previous round, but it took her three sets. She's played a lot of tennis lately as she's yet to really find her level.

Head-to-head:

As you might imagine, they haven't played any matches against each other. During the peak years of Wozniacki, Brady was nowhere to be found, and the reverse is also true. The rise of Brady in recent years largely coincided with Wozniacki being absent from the sport.

Prediction:

Even so, there are several things we can note in this matchup. Wozniacki is looking really solid with her counter-punching abilities in New York. She served really well against Kvtiova and will need to do it again if she hopes to win the match.

Brady has been pretty solid from the baseline but her game is rather devoid of consistency right now which could be a problem in a match where she should see a rather consistent effort from the other side.

The X factor is the crowd which will likely back the American but Wozniacki knows how to navigate that. I feel like the in over Kvitova gave her enough confidence to keep playing well, and I believe there is a good chance that she wins this matchup.

Prediction: Caroline Wozniacki to win in two sets.
