As Bianca Andreescu's tennis career continues to flourish, her pursuit of greatness has only just begun.
The youngster, who wasn't very active in the past few years, is currently on a journey to regain her confidence, and firmly believes she is destined to achieve even greater heights in the world of professional tennis.
Following a hard-fought victory against the 7th-seeded Maria Sakkari at the 2023 Miami Open, Andreescu expressed her thoughts on her current performance and potential.
With a humble and determined mindset, the 2019 US Open champion confidently stated that she is operating at only 75 to 80 percent of her true capabilities, and that she can still improve, with many rounds ahead of her at the WTA 1000 tournament, especially if she wants to win it.
“I feel like there’s always room for improvement even if I’m feeling like I’m at 100 percent, but I know I’m never at 100 percent because there’s so much that I know I can learn, getting to know my body as well through the years, and just kind of keeping momentum.”
“I think it’s super important, and I feel like I’m starting to get that now a little bit. So with all of that, I feel like I’m at, I would say, 75 percent, 80 percent of what I know I’m capable of.”
The Canadian will have a chance to show what she's capable of already in the next round of the 2023 Miami Open as she'll take on fellow Grand Slam champion, Sofia Kenin, who triumphed at the 2020 Australian Open.
The two major champions will battle for another boost in confidence and a fourth-round spot against the winner of the match between the ninth-seeded Belinda Bencic and no. 18 Ekaterina Alexandrova, in what is a very strong part of the draw.
