Draw for the 2023 Upper Austria Ladies Linz Open was released and there's a lot to look forward to.
The 2023 Upper Austria Ladies Linz Open is a WTA 250 event, which runs from February 6th to 12th in TipsArena Linz. The event attracts many respected players, since its start in 1987. This year, Maria Sakkari will be the highest-seeded player, but she'll certainly face many obstacles if she wants to win the title.
The Greek player will start against Nuria Parrizas Diaz in the first round. The winner of this match will then meet a qualifier or Anna Blinkova in the second round. Former world no. 19, Donna Vekic will also compete in Linz, and she can meet the top-seed already in the quarterfinals.
The fifth-seeded Croatian will begin against Tamara Korpatsch, and she can meet Madison Brengle or Julia Grabher in the second round, if she succeeds against the German.
Doubles world no. 1, Katerina Siniakova, also takes part at the event, and she will face a difficult start, as the third-seeded Irina-Camelia Begu will stand in her way.
The draw features also a rising talent from the United States, Alycia Parks, and the 2020 Australian Open champion, Sofia Kenin.
While Parks will start against the fourth-seeded Anhelina Kalinina, her compatriot will play against Jule Niemeier.
