After not appearing in the WTA Tour calendar in the last two season, the Korea Open in Soul returns in 2022 and it will be held from September 19th until 25th.
The last champion of the Korea Open is Karolina Muchova who triumphed in 2019 but previously, players like Agnieszka Radwanska, Caroline Wozniacki, Venus Williams and Maria Sharapova won this event. This year, there's only one former champion on the entry list and that's Jelena Ostapenko.
The Latvian should be one of the top seeded players at the event and she will be joined by 2021 US Open champion, Emma Raducanu. Ekaterina Alexandrova and Varvara Gracheva will also play at the event but there will be also two interesting names that used their protected rankings to get to the event.
Eugenie Bouchard and Evgeniya Rodina are making their comebacks and the 2022 Korea Open in Soul will be also one of the places where they will appear. The entry list features also youngster Linda Fruhvirtova and former world no. 10, Kristina Mladenovic.
