'Will Get Wildcards Whenever I Please': Kyrgios Bashes Journalist After Top 100 Exit Comment

| by Alfredo Bassanelli

Nick Kyrgios has been on a rampage on Twitter these past few days, and he's not stopping extending his feud with journalist Scott Barclay.

Nick Kyrgios has been very active on social media in recent days, far more than usual, as he clashed with former players, reporters, and all sorts of people over their stances and opinions. It all started with Scott Barclay, who said on Twitter that he started to dislike Kyrgios over time, even though he initially liked him.

Kyrgios responded and they went back and forth for a while. Well, we have round two, or three, not sure anymore. Barclay once again commented on Twitter that Nick Kyrgios falling out of the Top 100 on the ATP Tour will be good for him.

This'll be good for him, he'll now be able to relate to the lower ranked players he spends so much time making fun of on Twitter.

Kyrgios obviously saw that tweet, and he made fun of the tweet by pointing out that he's going to get wild cards anytime he wants because he actually draws people into the stands.

Protected ranking of 21 and will be able to get wildcards whenever I please. Good try tho.

That’s what happens when you pack out crowds everywhere in the world my boy. That includes you live streaming it with your hands down your pants.

Nothing Kyrgios said is wrong because it's very true, however, a lot of people won't like the delivery of his message. It's been a problem for years, but Kyrgios doesn't really care too much. He's always marketed himself that way, as someone who speaks his mind even if you don't want to hear it, as opposed to the prototypical tennis player who does and says the right thing all the time.
