Following their Challenger match in Orleans, Corentin Moutet, the 64th-ranked player in the world, and Adrian Andreev, the 247th-ranked player, got into an altercation.

The French player was one of the favorites to win because he was the highest-seeded in the competition. He won the opening set 6-2 in the second round against Adrian Andreev, but lost the match after losing both tie-breaks.

After the game, Corentin Moutet and his Bulgarian opponent got into a disagreement that quickly turned physical. Although the umpire intervened immediately to separate them, the Frenchman later claimed that it looks that the events persisted long after both players went to the locker room.

"I don't want to apologize for what happened late in the match. When a player allows himself to say "fuck you" twice while looking me in the eye, I can't help but make him understand in my own way that these are not things that are done," stated Moutet shortly after the match.

"You applauded this player late in the game. Maybe for you these are acceptable things. Not for me. In any case he threatened me and asked me to wait for him at the exit of the court. Which of course I did. I struggled to find him for 10 minutes."

"Indeed he was hidden on the other side behind 6 security people. Of course I heard your threats so when you get out of the room where they hid you I will be very happy to see you carry them out. So I'm waiting for you impatiently, we can talk calmly."

Soon after the match ended, Moutet's coach stated that the incident is being investigated by ATP. A few days later, a new footage of a warm-up was released as the Frenchman was firing shots at his opponent for no obvious reason.

Moutet and Andreev met only one week before their meeting in Orleans as the Bulgarian won also in Genoa. The match was very similar as the French player won the first set and then lost the second in a tie-break before losing the match. It seems that he didn't like something about their previous meeting as he set the tone for their match in Orleans early on.
