The 2024 Boodles Challenge will take place from June 25th to 29th, with plenty of interesting names appearing on the entry list.
Every year, there are various exhibitions played ahead of the season's third major tournament - Wimbledon. Usually, there are long swings of tournaments ahead of majors, but Wimbledon is a bit different.
There isn't usually a lot of time to prepare, and on top of that, many players want to rest after playing in Madrid, Rome, and then at the Roland Garros in relatively short succession.
As a result, many of the players then completely skip the lead-up ATP tournaments. Still, they all want some practice matches on the surface prior to the grass-court Grand Slam, and that's why there are two prestigious exhibitions played ahead of the major at SW19.
One of them is the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic played at the Hurlingham Club, and the other one is the Boodles Challenge, which is played at Stoke Park.
The Boodles Challenge was first held in 2002, and it has since become one of the most popular pre-Wimbledon exhibitions, with the likes of Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, Maria Sharapova, Novak Djokovic, and Andy Murray competing at the event over the years.
In 2024, Andrey Rublev headlines the list of players, who will compete at the Boodles Challenge. The Russian will want to forget his bad loss from Roland Garros and start the grass season on a positive note.
Joining him at the tournament will be player who can play really well on grass, due to his strengths, one of which is his serve. Hubert Hurkacz utilizes that well on the low-bouncing surface, and he will try to do that also at Boodles.
Stefanos Tsitsipas isn't the best grass-court player, and that's also why he will want to fine-tune his game ahead of Wimbledon, and Felix Auger-Aliassime will also join him at the tournament.
Nicolas Jarry is also a player with big serve, and he, too, will want to practice it ahead of Wimbledon, and a really good grass player, Sebastian Korda, appears on the entry list as well.
