Stefanos Tsitsipas slammed for tweeting: "Your salary is the bribe they give you to forget your aspirations"

Stefanos Tsitsipas has faced criticism over a controversial social media post where the Greek player criticized worker salaries.

Tsitsipas is very active on social media and often posts updates relating to tennis, his personal life, and hobbies. However, the current ATP world number five sometimes delivers philosophical thoughts on other aspects of life that can be contentious.

Tsitsipas recently lost to Carlos Alcaraz at the 2022 Barcelona Open. The Greek player is now preparing for the 2022 Madrid Open, where he will be one of the biggest favorites to win the title.

However, it appears that the 23-year-old has been using some of his spare time to note his observations on life via social media, including one of his most recent posts.

"School feels like a prison until you leave it, and then realise you were part of a social oasis with hundreds of other people your age. Something you’re never going to experience again."

Tsitsipas' views on schooling and growing up weren't his only recent reflections either. The 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters winner returned to his social media accounts to express another decisive view - this time about people's salaries.

Although Tsitsipas likes to express his opinions online, it is clear that his feelings don't always go down well with fans. In particular, some people quickly replied in the comments on the 23-year-old's latest post to criticize his viewpoint.

"Very apt coming from a 23-year old who has probably never had to work an 8-5 job to feed himself."

"Ok rich tennis player."

"Celebrities shouldn’t be giving advice to everyday people. You’re so disconnected from the reality of what we’re going through on the daily basis. Do you think everyone has the luxury of walking away from a job they don’t like? No. That’s our reality."
