Holger Rune produced some spectacular moments in his slight upset over Alex de Minaur at the Stockholm Open.

Rune showed off all of his positive traits during the match, along with a few negative ones. Despite his constant inconsistencies, the Danish player showed the impressive shot-making talent that makes him one of the more exciting players to watch.

“It was a brutal match from the beginning to the end," remarked Rune shortly after the conclusion adding a couple of more thoughts:

“Super long rallies. Really exhausting. He takes the ball super early and puts you under a lot of pressure but I am super happy I was able to raise my level towards the end of the second set and I started a bit better than expected in the third. I am super happy with how I fought until the end.”

Rune blasted 45 winners to defeat de Minaur, who kept things entertaining for the most part but made a number of poor decisions throughout the match. One of these occurred when Rune lost his racquet while serving but still won the point.

Rune will face Tsitsipas later today. Their only clash this year (Roland Garros) won won by Rune.
