20-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer will play his "one last match" at the 2022 Laver Cup, where he's most likely to team up with Rafael Nadal for doubles match on Friday
The Swiss Maestro stated that he will play only one doubles match on Friday and then, he will be replaced by an alternate, Matteo Berrettini, who will need to play at least one singles match. Iin an article in the Swiss daily Tages-Anzeiger, Roger Federer also spoke about what he will do after his retirement, when he suggested that he may try commentating.
"I never thought I would say this. But six months ago, I suddenly thought: commentating on tennis someday, who knows? Although I always said I would never do that. But so to commentate on some matches at Wimbledon..." said Roger Federer.
When asked if he would consider taking on a full-time role as a commentator, the Swiss Maestro had quite clear thoughts about doing it just a part-time hobby during some of his favourite Wimbledon matches, when he said:
"No, he (John McEnroe) makes too much. But being there every now and then would also allow me to keep in touch with the tour, the players, the new generation. And it would give me a reason to definitely watch tennis, which I like to do. When I suddenly had this in my head, I thought: Am I completely crazy now?" said Roger Federer.
