Marian Vajda, Gebhard Gritsch, and Miljan Amanovic were a very important part of Novak Djokovic's team during his success on the ATP Tour; however, none of them is part of it anymore.
Despite the fact that none of the three are part of Novak Djokovic's team, the world number 1 still has a very good relationship with all of them. Therefore, he has decided to give them a little award for their contributions throughout his successful career after the 2022 Serbia Open, where he lost in the final to Andrey Rublev.
Djokovic split with coach Marian Vajda earlier this year, and he announced the split with another member, Miljan Amanovic, just after the Serbia Open.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion commented on the departure of both members from his team. Vajda was an important part as he led him to the majority of his Grand Slam and other titles.
"Marian has travelled a lot as a player, then he coached Dominik Hrbaty and several other players, and then he spent 15 years with me. He is just tired of all the travelling, that is the reason (we split). I am glad we were able to say a proper goodbye here and that I thanked him in front of people in Belgrade."
Djokovic shared that while Miljan Amanovic departed his team, he will be still one of the important figures at the Novak Tennis Centre in Belgrade, where the 20-time major winner wants to build an academy for aspiring players.
"Miljan has travelled a lot, he has got three kids. Also, we have big plans here in the Novak Tennis Center we intend to transform it to Academy, and Miljan is one of the key people there. I am delighted that he has accepted that role, he will mean the world to us."
