Nick Kyrgios and Gael Monfils will meet in an exhibition match as they are set to bring a show to Mexico.
The 27-years-old Australian is having the best season of his career and his schedule is also expanding as he'll play at the ATP 500 event in Tokyo and now he also added an exhibition event to his schedule.
After losing in the quarterfinals of the 2022 US Open, he spoke about the importance he gives to Grand Slam tournaments, stating:
"I honestly feel like sh*t. I feel like I've let so many people down. I feel like I'm playing Tokyo and stuff. But, like, I feel like these four tournaments are the only ones that ever are going to matter. It's just like you got to start it all again. I have to wait till Australian Open," Nick Kyrgios said.
"Honestly I don't even really care about any other tournament. Like, I feel like at the Grand Slams, now having success at a Grand Slam, it's just like no other tournament really matters."
But it seems that Nick Kyrgios will play many more matches in 2022 than he used to play before, despite giving a huge importance mostly to Grand Slam tournaments. After playing the 2022 Japan Open to Tokyo, he will also play against Gael Monfils in Mexico.
On the 9th of November 2022, Nick Kyrgios and Gael Monfils will play in the Arena CDMX in Mexico City in an exhibition event called Tennis Showdown.
