Murray loses the season opener against Korda in Adelaide

Andy Murray, the former world number one and three-time Grand Slam champion, got off to a disappointing start in the 2023 season.

The Scot lost to Sebastian Korda in the first round of the 2023 Adelaide International 1. The match was a closely contested battle, with both players showing their mettle and fighting for every point. In the end, it was Korda who emerged victorious, winning 6-7(3), 3-6 in an hour and 58 minutes.

Murray, who has struggled with injuries in recent years, looked a shadow of his former self on the court, as he struggled to keep up with the young American. Korda, on the other hand, played with confidence and verve, hitting a series of powerful groundstrokes and serving with accuracy and variety as he hit 12 aces.

The match was evenly poised in the early stages, with both players holding serve comfortably. The first set went to a tiebreak, and it was Korda who came out on top, winning 7-3 to take a one-set lead.

Murray wanted to respond in the second set, but he couldn't do that. On the other hand, Korda played a strong sixth game, breaking Murray's serve to win the set 6-3 and secure the match.

The loss will be a disappointment for Murray, who will be looking to bounce back in his next tournament. Korda, on the other hand, will be thrilled with the win, as he looks to make a name for himself on the ATP Tour. It will be interesting to see how these two players fare in the rest of the 2023 season.
