"I want to see Novak in every tournament" - Alcaraz eager to face Djokovic

Carlos Alcaraz is eager to face Novak Djokovic as many times as he can because he feels lucky to have such a legendary player playing at the same time.

Not everyone would agree with Alcaraz's assertion because Djokovic is often avoided by opponents, but the Spaniard is willing to compare himself to him. The Spaniard has won their sole meeting thus far because he normally believes that having Djokovic around makes the tournament better.

"Tennis is better having the best players in the world, and for the fans as well it's good to see a tournament with the best players," said Alcaraz in Abu Dhabi ahead of his debut at the Mubadala event. It's not a strange statement and many have repeated it over the years.

"Talking for me, I want to see Novak play in every tournament. I always said that if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best player in the world. I'm a lucky guy to have Djokovic on the tour," added Alcaraz.

He finished the year as number one and got his trophy at the ATP Finals but was unable to play due to an abdominal injury sustained in Paris.

"I feel good finally," admitted Alcaraz in relation to his abdominal injury. "I had a month to recover well the ab and right now I feel almost 100 percent. I have been training normally this past week and I'm feeling great."
