Still only 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is having a great season. The young Spaniard won 18 out of 20 matches he played and lifted two titles in Rio and Miami. Now, he will enter the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters as the eight-seeded and can possibly clash with current world number 1 Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.

Ahead of the tournament, Alcaraz spoke about entering the draws of all the major tournaments for the first time, admitting that he's trying to take some pressure off himself.

"Sometimes it is difficult, but I am trying to make it easy. Doing everything for the first time, I am trying my best, trying to manage the nerves of the first time well."

"I don’t want to be in a rush, I just focus on the first match. Obviously, it would be a great match against Novak. Playing against the No. 1 player in the world would be amazing for me, but I hope to play well in the first matches first and hope to meet him in the quarter-finals."

Alcaraz also faces a new situation with being one of the most popular faces on the ATP Tour and meeting a lot of fans every day. However, he remains to stay the same person as he was before what he backed with his word during the interview.
