"I don't think I have a different treatment from the umpires" says Rafael Nadal

Rafael Nadal claimed, in contrast to popular belief, that he doesn't get special treatment from umpires after winning the opening match of the US Open on Tuesday.

The Spaniard, who was competing in Flushing Meadows for the first time in three years, lost the first set but won the following three with ease to advance. Nadal performs a complex routine before each point, and many have frequently criticized him for disregarding the 25-second limit when serving.

The Spaniard explained in his press conference that he sweats a lot and needs to use a towel which is why he frequently breaks the regulation.

"I went through a lot of warnings under my tennis career. Never for breaking a racquet, never for doing a mess on court. But, yes, for the time clock. I have a problem that I am sweating a lot." said Nadal adding:

"The problem for players like me that am sweating that much, you know when you go to pick up the towel, you going to be in trouble with the time. So I am not going very often. I don't think I have a different treatment from the umpires at all."
