"He's going to win much more than one Grand Slam title" - Nadal backs Zverev for successful future

The semifinal match at the 2022 Roland Garros between Alexander Zverev and Rafael Nadal didn't end in a way that anyone would like it to end as the German was forced to retire due to an ugly injury.

Rafael Nadal, who knows a lot about injuries himself, supported his colleague, Alexander Zverev, after the match and predicted him a very bright future. So far, the German played one Grand Slam final at the 2020 US Open where he lost to Dominic Thiem in the final, but according to the 21-time Grand Slam champion, Rafael Nadal, he can win much more than one trophy.

In an interview after the match, Nadal said: "Very sad for him. Honestly, he was playing unbelievable tournament. He's a very good colleague on the court. I know how much he's fighting to win a Grand Slam and right now he was very unlucky. But I know he's going to win, not one, but much more than one so I wish him the very best and a quick recovery."

Day after the match, Zverev also knew more about his injury, when he updated his fans: "Hey guys! I am now on my way back home. Based on the first medical checks, it looks like I have torn several lateral ligaments in my right foot. I will be flying to Germany on Monday to make further examinations and to determine the best and quickest way for me to recover."
