Dominic Thiem is hoping to go back to his best tennis in 2023 which will allow him to have deep runs at events and win trophies.
Thiem had a difficult time getting back after missing almost a year due to a wrist injury. In 2022, he made a comeback, but his form was inconsistent in the beginning of the year before improving in the latter part. In order for him to go back into the top 10, 2023 is vital.
“I have the feeling that I’m going in a good direction. The way is positive for me, the way I’m practising, I’m very happy about it,” Thiem told The National.
The positive way for him is getting back to a level that will allow him to compete for trophies weekly. Those are his goals for next year:
“I think I’m on my way to reach the goals for the off-season, which was to get those last missing percentages. And I feel that I’m playing better, like at the end of the 2022 season, which is a good sign. Coming towards the end of the season, coming closer and closer to the first real matches again and I’m happy about it."
