Rick Macci is a renowned coach, who used to coach Serena Williams, and he thinks Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner will form a new Big Two in the coming years.
Macci has seen a lot of great tennis players over the years, and he's even worked with quite a few of them. He knows superstars when he sees them, and he certainly considers both Sinner and Alcaraz to be superstars.
His appreciation for the Spaniard is well documented, but more recently, Macci has been impressed with what Sinner has been able to do. Like many, he wasn't necessarily surprised by it, but there was some minor doubt about whether he'd be capable of doing it.
For him, these two are head and shoulders above everybody else and will eventually form a new Big Two in the coming years.
"I think Sinner and Alcaraz and there will be a few more that will enter the mix, but I can see them dominating tennis for a long time. It will be the big two, then someone will enter the mix for sure."
Macci further asserted that both of them will likely win more than 10 Grand Slams in their careers. It's a bold prediction, but they are both still young, and with the way tennis players' careers have extended, it's not that unthinkable.
Still, Alcaraz managed to win two majors already, while Sinner has one to his name.
"They (Alcaraz and Sinner) now believe and if you believe you will achieve and I definitely think both of them will be double figure grand slam winners. So the sky is the limit for both these guys and what's great about it, they're going to keep pushing each other and that's how you get better because competition makes you a better competitor."
