The 2022 Lyon Open is one of the five events held in France and taking part from May 15th until 21st, it's the last event before the second Grand Slam of the season - Roland Garros and the entry list is already known.
From 1987 until 2009, the Lyon Open was played on the hard court, but returned in 2017 as clay-court tournament. Since then, we've seen four champions in Lyon as the first of them will take part also in the 2022 Lyon Open as we know the entry list.
Stefanos Tsitsipas became the champion at Lyon Open in 2021, but no player from the Top 10 of the ATP Rankings will take part at the event in 2022 as the eleventh Cameron Norrie is the highest-ranked player that will enter the tournament.
The other three champions in Lyon are Benoit Paire, Dominic Thiem and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who was the first champion on clay in Lyon. And it will be a small farewell for Tsonga in Lyon as it will be second last event that he will play before his retirement.
Despite not having any players from the Top 10, the entry list still includes a lot of interesting names as Pablo Carreno Busta, Gael Monfils, Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov and also Aslan Karatsev will all take part.
