WATCH: Tsitsipas & Badosa Play Padel Together Ahead Of 2024 Season

| by Sebastian Dahlman

Stefanos Tsitsipas and his girlfriend Paula Badosa are preparing for the new season at her home base in Dubai, and they engaged in some padel tennis.

Neither Badosa nor Tsitsipas had a really good conclusion to the 2023 season. More generally, Badosa spent much of this year on the sidelines, dealing with major injuries for the first time in her career.

She's generally been quite healthy but failed to do that this year, which is why we mostly saw her accompanying Tsitsipas at his events. On the other hand, the Greek player had a strange year.

It opened well in Australia but then went south as the season went on. He had some good moments like Los Cabos, but for the most part, it was pretty disappointing for Tsitsipas.

He finished with an injury in Turin, but it's getting better lately, and she should be back on the tennis courts pretty soon.

The offseason for both is happening in Dubai, where Badosa is based, and they engaged in some padel tennis to switch things up. It's an interesting sport that is quite similar to tennis in principle, which is why it's popular among players.

Plenty of players explore other racquet sports in the offseason. Andy Murray has dabbled in it, and, more recently, Coco Gauff explored squash as part of her preseason.

It's a pretty nice way to ease yourself onto the big courts. Padel is pretty popular in the Middle East, so many courts exist. Badosa and Tsitsipas weren't alone on the court, as Stefanos' younger brother Petros was there as well.

They recently won a doubles trophy in Antwerpen together, which was a big deal for the brothers. All of them will be in Australia soon as Tsitsipas will lead Greece in the United Cup. We'll see what happens with Badosa and if she plays.
