Venus Williams will get a chance to compete at another WTA 1000 event as she got the 2023 Cincinnati Masters wild card.

Even despite being 43 years old and playing only once in a while, Venus Williams is still one of the most followed players on the WTA Tour, and whenever she steps onto the court, there's a lot of buzz around it.

It wasn't any different at Wimbledon, and in the meantime, the American also received a wild card for the 2023 Canadian Open in Toronto. Now, she was awarded a wild card for another WTA 1000 tournament in the North American swing, the 2023 Cincinnati Masters, also called the Western & Southern Open, for sponsorship reasons.

The 43-year-old legend steps into the court, uniting with a constellation of tennis stars that comprises the world's top 39 WTA players, four wild card entrants, and 12 other Grand Slam winners in a star-studded entry list.

Venus, with an impressive repertoire of 49 career singles titles and four Olympic gold medals, is no stranger to the intensity of the Cincinnati Masters. Marking her 10th singles appearance, she ties for the second most appearances in Cincinnati among active players. Her notable achievements in this event include a semifinal finish in 2012 and a quarterfinal in 2019.

Eight more players are set to join the women's lineup following a two-round qualifying tournament on the opening weekend, August 12-13. This means, the Cincinnati Masters in its entirety will feature an overwhelming total of 18 Grand Slam champions, who collectively have clinched 56 Grand Slam titles.

The tournament will also house nine current or former world No. 1s, and 11 past Western & Southern Open champions. One of those is also Caroline Wozniacki, who is making a surprise return to tennis, and she will compete at the 2023 Cincinnati Masters.
