Paula Badosa answered who she thinks the best player of all time is during a recent interview and gave some other interesting insights during the interview.
2022 has been an outstanding season for the Spaniard. Before the Australian Open, she won the title at the Sydney International, defeating last year's French Open winner Barbora Krejcikova in a thrilling final.
Badosa backed that up with solid results during the U.S. swing in March, reaching the semifinal of the Indian Wells Open and the quarterfinal of the Miami Open, playing well throughout those tournaments.
The 24-year-old also performed well on clay. After making the quarterfinal on the green clay in Charleston, she lost two tight sets against Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinal of the Stuttgart Open.
Those impressive results mean that Badosa is currently ranked at No. 4. However, she still has to improve to match the greatest players, who have won multiple Grand Slams and reached No. 1 in the rankings.
In a recent interview with the LTA, Badosa was asked who she thinks is the greatest player of all time. She gave a short and quick response, leaving no doubts about who she believes is the best.
"Serena Williams"
Many consider Williams to be the greatest women's player ever. The American is still one Grand Slam short of tying Margaret Court's record of 24, but the standard of tennis was not as high when Court competed.
Badosa also answered some other fascinating questions. The Sydney International champion said sharing the court with Ons Jabeur is always enjoyable when asked about the funniest moment on the WTA Tour.
The Spaniard was also asked what she likes best about being a professional tennis player, and she answered that she likes getting to know many people and cultures. Badosa's personable nature makes that answer unsurprising.
