Novak Djokovic recently underwent knee surgery to fix a torn meniscus, but he's already working out in the gym.
Unfortunately, the Serbian is not practicing on the tennis courts right now due to what happened at Roland Garros. It was an injury that happened in Paris, and it's not something Djokovic had to endure many times in his career.
He's been lucky in that regard, but he wasn't very lucky this time around. He tore his meniscus, which had to be surgically repaired. Djokovic doesn't like going under the knife, but he had to do it this time around, and he did it a few days after injuring himself.
The surgery was a success, and he began a long recovery that might last a few weeks. There is already chatter about him possibly missing Wimbledon because of the injury, but he'll certainly try to be ready for that tournament.
In fact, he's already back in the gym, which is quite amazing. Not only is he back in the gym, but he's also working out with his knee, riding a bike, and doing various different exercises at quite a solid intensity.
That's amazing progress, and he may even pull off some amazing comeback in time for Wimbledon, but it's still early days. The surface change is certainly something to remember because he's coming off clay, and Wimbledon is a major played on grass courts, while the Olympic Games will be played on clay again.
Rafael Nadal already declined to change surfaces, skipping Wimbledon, and Djokovic might do the same. The good news is that the knee is fine enough to be back in the gym.
His progress will be certainly closely followed in the coming weeks, as those will decide how his summer will look like and which tournaments he will be able to play.
