Alexander Zverev stagged the first-ever gala for his foundation that bears his name and to mark the occasion he took to the court to take on his brother Mischa.

Since his catastrophic ankle injury at Roland Garros, Zverev had not officially stood on the court until yesterday. He obviously was on the court for practice but this was a proper match. It was something of a return before he leaves for the Middle East to get ready for the Australian Open.

For his fans, who were a little concerned when he delayed his comeback earlier this year due to bone oedema, it's a welcome sight. Zverev chose to take more time to recover in order to return only when he was completely healthy because he was unable to play without experiencing pain in September.

"I'm happy to be back on the court. I'm happy to play against Mischa now, which will be a halfway decent match. And then it's back to the tour for me with Australia. And hopefully, next year, I can play the whole year through and not just 5 months like I did this year," said Zverev addressing the crowd.
