Stefanos Tsitsipas has been one of the most dominant players in the 2023 season so far as he's yet to lose a match.

After winning his four matches at the United Cup against likes of Matteo Berrettini and Grigor Dimitrov, the Greek kicked-off his 2023 Australian Open journey against Quentin Halys without losing a set. Next, Tsitsipas faced home wild-card Rinky Hijikata, who he destroyed in just 93 minutes.

The 21-year-old Australian is collecting a lot of experience at majors, and the match against Tsitsipas in the Rod Laver Arena was certainly a big experience.

Both players were cautious at the start of the match, as fans in Melbourne didn't see a break point until the sixth game. The Greek player created his one and only chance of the first set to break his opponent, and he used it to eventually win the first set 6-3.

Then, he showed the youngster why he's ranked fourth in the world as he dominated the second set and won it 6-0, while allowing Hijikata to win only 2 points since 2-0.

Hijikata had his chances to go into the lead in the third set when he had two break points in the fourth game. Yet, he couldn't use his chances and Tsitsipas excelled again, winning 18 out of the last 21 rallies to win the match 6-3, 6-0, 6-2.
