Andrey Rublev's eating habits became a hot topic after a report from La Stampa detailed the habits of the players competing at the event.

The manager of the restaurant where athletes eat during the ATP Finals, Gianluca Bernardi, claimed that Rublev made the most dubious food choices while Novak Djokovic was the most committed to his diet in an interview with La Stampa.

According to the manager Rublev is quite fond of cappuccinos: "‘I’m Russian, don’t worry,’ he told me, before stuffing himself with grilled shrimp accompanied by three cappuccinos," said Bernardi.

Rublev squashed the rumours during his on-court interview after the win over Tsitsipas:

"This is bullsh*t on another level. I don't know. The ATP has to do something because this is unacceptable. I'm like a normal person, I'm drinking cappuccino," said a very displeased Rublev. He added:

"But the thing that they were writing there is on another level. I think ATP should do something because it cannot happen in a restaurant of a tennis tournament. My diet, for sure, is not good but it's not that bad either."
