After dominating the Green Group in Turin, Casper Ruud met Andrey Rublev in the semifinal and it wasn't a lengthy battle.

The ATP season is coming to an end with one last match left at the 2022 ATP Finals and both protagonists are known already. First, Novak Djokovic defeated Taylor Fritz before Casper Ruud gave no chance to Andrey Rublev in the second semifinal match in Pala Alpitour.

Both players had a couple early games where their serves were particularly good. Rublev, though, gave his opponent a chance to reach deuce in the fifth and seventh games of the first set. Ruud took advantage of this chance on both occasions, taking the first set 6-2 in just 33 minutes.

Rublev tried his best in the second set to make a comeback, but he wasn't very successful. He was instantly broken in the opening game, and his Norwegian opponent added another break in the third to quickly take a 4-0 lead.

Ruud was serving for the match when the Russian earned his first break point of the match in the eighth game of the second set, and he wasted no time seizing the opportunity to try to rally back.

Ruud didn't allow any drama, though, and finished the match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory to set up a championship showdown against Novak Djokovic.
