Rafael Nadal spent quality time with coaches at his own tennis academy in Mallorca on Wednesday, where he chaired the session and looked quite relaxed and sporty.
Photos from the eventful session were shared by the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy social media pages, where the Spaniard looked jovial and seemingly in training gear, having been at the premises a few weeks ago jogging on a treadmill in the presence of his longtime coach and uncle, Toni Nadal.
It was at his tennis academy when he relayed the shocking news of pulling out from the 2023 French Open in May due to a hip injury, before revealing his intention to stop playing professionally beyond the 2024 season.
In early June, the 37-year-old confirmed that he had undergone successful arthroscopic surgery on the left psoas muscle that hampered his return since his second-round defeat to Mackenzie McDonald at this year's Australian Open.
"An unforgettable conversation! The Rafael Nadal Academy coaches have had the opportunity to chat with Rafael Nadal and ask him many topics! Anecdotes, recommendations, memories and advice that we will always remember! VAMOS!!
Nadal returned to his eponymous academy in mid-June to oversee the graduation day of 49 students, where Roland Garros champion Iga Swiatek was an invited guest. Both two champions honored each other and the Pole joined the graduates in the customary hat toss.
Nadal has spent the last few months stepping up his comeback, hitting the gym, and increasing the intensity of his training routine before picking up a racket again.
Recently, Toni Nadal shed light on Nadal's upcoming season, with his plan being to play at next year's Australian Open if recovery continues to gather momentum. Nadal will need a wild card in Melbourne should he make a comeback in January, having dropped outside the world's Top 200 this week.
