Rafael Nadal, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, is on the brink of breaking two records held by his good friend and rival, Roger Federer.

The records in question are the longest time between the first and last ATP title and the number of consecutive seasons reaching at least one ATP final. Federer currently holds the record for the longest time between the first and last ATP title, with a span of 18 years, 8 months, and 23 days between his first win in Milan in 2001 and his last in Basel in 2019.

Nadal, however, is right behind him, with his first win coming in Sopot in 2004 and his last at the 2022 Roland Garros last year. If Nadal were to win another tournament in 2023 at Roland Garros or after it, he would surpass Federer's record.

Moreover, Federer reached at least one ATP final for 20 consecutive seasons, from 2000 until 2019. Nadal, on the other hand, has reached the same feat for 19 consecutive seasons, and if he continues this trend in 2023, he will equal Federer's record. If he were to reach another final the following year, he would break the record.
