Nicola Pietrangeli criticised Matteo Berrettini for being more interested in advertisements than tennis to which Nick Kyrgios responded.
Berrettini hasn't had much tennis success recently and Pietrangeli was disappointed to see it. He suggested that it's because Berrettini was focusing more on things that have little to do with tennis which made his tennis suffer. It's a popular argument for when players drop off a little bit but Kyrgios doesn't see anything wrong with it.
But isn’t it his choice to prioritise? I can assure you this, he is making more bank than sinner off the court 🤦🏽♂️ and for some of us, money is important
Kyrgios himself was always open about his motivation to play tennis and how he treats it firstly as a job which it is. It's not a secret that off-court earnings are higher for most big tennis players with Roger Federer notching close to 90 million in earnings in 2022 despite not playing any competitive tennis.
