Medvedev leads US Open field with no top 10 changes in the Rankings

As Medvedev leads the field at this year's US Open starting today, change has been few per the new ATP Rankings.

The Russian is ranked first at the start of the title defence, but he might not remain there when it is over. The difference between him and Nadal is barely 1200 points, and the Spaniard can only earn points since he did not play last year. Flipping is probable because Medvedev cannot gain any points, but he can lose a lot if he loses before the final.

There were no other changes to the top 10, and Novak Djokovic appears certain to fall outside of it after being denied the chance to defend last year's final. It will be the first time in a very long time that he drops out of the top 10.

Adrian Mannarino was crowned Winston-Salem champion and his rise on the rankings totals to 20 spots and the number 45. Laslo Djere was the losing player in that final and he moved up 25 spots to number 64. A couple of other players made moves as well and you can check that out on our dedicated rankings page.
