Daniil Medvedev hopes he will face 'the best player in the world right now' Djokovic at the Adelaide International.
Both players signed up to play in the event and they might face each other in the main draw if they both go far. It's expected and Medvedev himself is hopeful of it because he wants to see what he can do against the best.
"I don't know. I like to play Novak because yeah, I feel like we have a lot of matches. We had some really great matches with a great level of tennis," said Medvedev.
The main objective is to advance in the tournament, so playing Djokovic isn't his only wish for the Adelaide tournament. Finding a good rhythm for the major will depend on getting a few matches in before the Australian.
"At the same time, what motivates me is to be in the semis, and if it's Novak there, it's great. If it's somebody else who beats him, I don't care much; that's also great. It means that somebody is in great shape, and managed to probably beat the best player in the world right now," added Medvedev.
