Roger Federer and Stan Wawrinka won a gold medal at the Olympics for Switzerland which is one of many great tennis moments they shared.

The friendship between Wawrinka and Federer, which began years ago and is still going strong now. They were teammates, opponents, and friends, and their relationship has always been based on respect. In a recent interview, Wawrinka referred to him as a brother as well.

"I cried for Roger (Federer). It was hard, a strong feeling. Even talking about it is difficult. When I came on the tour, he was already there. He was like a big brother to me, a friend," said Wawrinka in a recent talk with RMC Sport.

The topic of Wawrinka's future came up as well because of his recent strong play, which included a victory over Medvedev and a close match against Holger Rune, the winner of the Paris Masters, in the second round of the tournament.

"If I no longer had the feeling that I could beat the best tennis players, I probably would have stopped," said Wawrinka asserting that he'll play until he's competitive: "It's important for me to be competitive, I keep playing because I want to experience the matches, the big challenges."
