Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz have done a lot of winning this year, as they now have the same number of trophies this year.
The trophy race is not something many tennis players pay attention to, but it's a real thing to compare when you have players that have had similar seasons.
Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic have had amazing seasons, and while the Serbian probably wins simply by winning more Grand Slams, the Serbian has won some other trophies as well.
In fact, after beating Grigor Dimitrov in the Paris Masters final, the Serbian is up to six trophies this year, the same amount as Alcaraz. So, which did he exactly win this year?
Well, he won Adelaide early in the year. Then he won the Australian Open. Then he won the French Open, then the Cincinnati Masters, and then the US Open. The 6th came recently at the Paris Masters.
It's been a really good run for Djokovic, with many big trophies. The only final he lost was the Wimbledon one to Alcaraz. Speaking of Alcaraz, he won Buenos Aires, Indian Wells, Barcelona, the Madrid Open, Queen's Club, and Wimbledon, of course.
It's a bit more diverse and a bit pale compared to Djokovic, whose trophies are more significant. They are the joint leaders in the trophy race ahead of Daniil Medvedev, who won 5 trophies out of the ten finals he played.
Jannik Sinner won four, Sebastian Baez won three, and so on, so it's been a really good season for both of them. Obviously, there is one more left to be played, as both will take part in the ATP Finals.
It's going to be the first time Alcaraz plays in the ATP Finals, while Djokovic won the event last year. He was actually undefeated, and if he does it again, he'll win the trophy race this year.
