Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios were set to team up for doubles at the 2023 Indian Wells, but it seems that their partnership may fall apart due to Djokovic's current inability to enter the United States.

Djokovic, who is current world No. 1, and 2022 Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios, had already confirmed their doubles partnership multiple times, causing excitement among tennis fans. However, due to the current COVID-19 restrictions in the United States, Djokovic may not be able to enter the country to participate in the tournament.

The announcement of this special pairing came already last year, when the Australian revealed: "If Novak is allowed in the USA we are playing doubles at Indian Wells. Y'all ready?"

As the United States still does not allow unvaccinated foreigners into the country, Djokovic has applied for a special permission to enter and compete in the tournament. According to his brother, the outcome of this request is uncertain and is "out of their hands".

Djokovic and Kyrgios, two of the most exciting and entertaining players in tennis, were set to bring their unique playing styles to the doubles court at Indian Wells. Djokovic is known for his consistency and mental toughness, while Kyrgios is known for his powerful serving and audacious shot-making.
