Today Roland Garros match had many implications for the ATP Rankings and with Nadal advancing it's now clear that Djokovic will slide to number three, while Zverev moves up to number two and Medvedev number one.
Daniil Medvedev is set to make his return to number one on June 13th when last year's Roland Garros points drop from the tally. The Russian will add another week to his tally as number one which was a topic a few weeks ago during an interview where he explained that it would not bother him if he never returned to number one.
It's something that nobody could take away from him. We'll he doesn't have to worry about it anymore cause he will spend some more weeks on the rankings. Alexander Zverev will make his debut as number two on the rankings which will be a new career-high for him. It will be greatly overshadowed by his ankle injury that will keep him out of tennis for some time. Speedy recovery Sascha!
Novak Djokovic will slide to number three for the first time in quite some time after failing to defend his rankings points from Roland Garros last week. The moves also means that both the world number one and two will be out of Wimbledon. Medvedev due to the ban and Zverev due to injury.
