The dynamic duo of Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov delivered their first Davis Cup to Canada fulfilling something many thought they eventually would.

They grew up together on the Tour and many expected them to lead Canada to the trophy eventually. They did fairly early in their careers after some brilliant performances by both and Eugenie Bouchard closely followed their run.

"I know I’m late but congrats to Canada’s Davis Cup team!!! Canadians have become so good at tennis. So proud," Bouchard wrote on Twitter.

The victory undoubtedly contributed to Canadian tennis's resurgence, which began with Bouchard herself a few years ago. Although she didn't quite live up to her early-career reputation as a high talent, it was obvious that the nation will continue to produce elite players in the future.

They did and now they have been crowned the best tennis nation in men's sports. With Fernandez on the WTA side and Andreescu as a major winner the future is bright as well. Both are young and both will hope to win the Billie Jean King Cup for Canada as well.
