Alcaraz Has Qualities 'Never Seen Before At His Age' According To Former Federer's Coach

Paul Annacone, Roger Federer's former coach, believes that Carlos Alcaraz is the most complete young player we've ever seen on the ATP Tour.

It's not a grandiose statement by any means because it's been said so many times already. Alcaraz is certainly one of the most complete young stars to emerge in recent memory. Some of the things he did were quite special, including becoming the youngest world number one ever.

That doesn't just happen by chance and it came after a sudden and dramatic rise as a teenager. His Wimbledon triumph over Djokovic further cemented his status as a special player and now it's about finding out how his career shapes out.

He's good enough to win 10+ Grand Slams, which is something that Federer's former coach, Paul Annacone, who spoke on the Rock n Roll Tennis Podcast, certainly sees in his future.

I think Alcaraz, if he could stay healthy, should be a multiple, multiple Grand Slam [winner]. Is he going to get 20? I have no idea. I don't even like to guess at stuff like that, but if he stays healthy with his athletic skill set.

Part of what makes Alcaraz so great is his maturity. He's already doing plenty of things that a veteran champion would do, and it's the influence of Juan Carlos Ferrero. The Spaniard is a former number one who knew what it took to get there, and then he's been preparing Alcaraz for years.

And from what I've seen, look, we don't, I don't think we've mentioned enough what he's gone through with Juan Carlos Ferrero. Juan Carlos Ferrero has taught him since he's been a little kid. And he's the most complete young player I've ever seen in my life.

We'll see what happens in the coming months, but he's at that stage in his career where he could be winning one if not two Grand Slams per year. Time will tell if he does.
