The ATP Tour will travel to Spain from October 10th to 16th as players will meet at the 2022 Gijon Open, which was awarded a single-year licence.
After a couple of ATP 500 events, few lower-tier events will take place as the 2022 Gijon Open offers an interesting entry list led by Spanish players. Pablo Carreno Busta, Roberto Bautista Agut, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Albert Ramos-Vinolas should all compete in Gijon.
The top-seeded player should be Andrey Rublev who will be joined also by the 2020 US Open champion, Dominic Thiem, who used protected ranking to enter the event. Many young guns like Francisco Cerundolo, Tommy Paul and Sebastian Baez will also compete in Gijon.
But the midfield will be also very strong as Fabio Fognini leads the list of experienced players. Joao Soousa, Pedro Cachin and Jaume Munar are also among the names playing as you can see the full entry list below.
